Liberty Working Dog Club was founded in 2007 by a group of friends and fellow dogsport enthusiasts brought together by their love of dogs and dog training.

Our training focuses primarily on preparing dogs and handlers for achieving titles in Schutzhund and UKC's Service Dogs of America. Our membership runs the gamut from those who are highly experienced and have titled several dogs, to novices getting involed in dog training for the first time.  Some of our members are hobbyists, participating in a relaxed manner as a fun and rewarding activity to enjoy with their dog.  Others approach SchH and/or SDA from a more serious standpoint, with aspirations of competition or to utilize the training and titling as a breed test for working ability.

Regardless of differences in background, experience or long term goals, we are all united in our enjoyment of spending time with our dogs and club members, our dedication to promoting responsible dog ownership, training, and our commitment to working together to help everyone achieve success.

LWDC trains on Saturdays in rural Scio Township, just west of Ann Arbor.  During the summer, additional mid-week training is available for club members.

LWDC is not a dog training service and members are responsible for training their own dogs.  The club exists to facilitate this by providing guidance, support and an environment through which members can successfully train their dogs toward titles and continue to develop their own training and handling skills.

All members are expected to be actively working toward SchH and/or SDA titles, and all members are expected to participate regularly in training and help out whenever possible.
